An eye trained early. A method built since.
I’m Steve West, founder of GoWest Staging. Based in Marin, I partner with real estate clients across San Francisco and the greater Bay Area to present their properties at their absolute best. My eye for design was trained early — I grew up trailing my parents through antique auctions, soaking in their contagious passion for curating beautiful spaces. Today, I use that lifelong appreciation for classic design, elegant symmetry, and striking focal points to transform houses into highly desirable properties that buyers instantly connect with.
I deeply understand the strategic art of staging a home to sell. The goal is to capture as large a market as possible — often by leaning into versatile, neutral palettes — but I firmly believe mass appeal never has to mean boring. A beautifully staged home should still have soul, character, and life. My approach strikes the balance: stripping away just enough personal clutter to let the home’s architecture shine, while styling it with enough warmth, elegance, and subtle drama that buyers can immediately picture their own lives unfolding there.
Staging is one part of a bigger picture. I also lead The GoWest Group, a real estate team serving Marin and San Francisco, and GoWest Home Design, an interior design studio focused on strategic color and design for resale. The three companies are independent by design, connected by a preferred-partner relationship — which means when a listing needs prep, design, staging, and marketing, my clients get one point of contact and a team that has worked together for years, not a list of vendors to manage.
Since 2015, that approach has carried staging projects across Marin, San Francisco, and the Bay Area — from intimate Victorian flats to sprawling Tiburon estates. Every install is curated to the home’s architecture, and we stay through photography, adjusting final details so every image captures the home at its absolute best.
